（水平有限，诸位将就着看吧，希望此处子贴不是漏洞百出，他们大部分是巴基斯坦人，但里面给几个也许是韩国人搞的乱七八糟；他们除了对一切印度的人、物比较主观以外，绝大部分巴基斯坦人对其他国家都很友好，尤其对中国和沙特等穆斯林国家，在他们的论坛里有专门对fc-1/jf-17、j-10、阿尔-哈利德、核电站讨论的固定贴子，从中可以看出他们以之为骄傲，虽然有极个别巴基斯坦人对其中的电子设备等中国的弱项有些词微，就像我们对俄罗斯的有些设备也不感冒，但不会用垃圾等字眼去形容，顶多说不如xx好，用xx去替换吧，这也是进步的表现，但他们对jf-17的期待决非我们可以想象；他们在外交上自感比较孤立，倍感与中国的友谊来之不易，有篇投票的贴子可以说明一切，就是那篇点击次数颇多的“除中国外，你认为巴基斯坦最可靠的盟友是谁？”，对中国之信赖昭然若揭；让我们更多一点的了解他们吧，少些轻视、自大多些关怀，更何况我并有资本去小瞧任何人。go on）

So who do you think will have the best Army in Asia by 2020? I vote South Korea. Amazing artillery systems and can produce the lethal K-1A1 in numbers! I'm not voting China b/c there artillery systems aren't that great, and the spec on the Type-98G are a question mark! If South Korea comes out w/ a K-1A2 and the MBT-X is out, they will kick @$$!

Turkey and Pakistan over South Korean army? You must be rather confident of yourselves, or is ignorant of ROKA operational capability.
The entire ROK Army is composed of three Armies and a rear support command. Among the 3 Armies, there are 11 corps, close to 49 divisions, 19 brigades plus an independent aviation command and commando commands. Seperate from this entirely is the Marine Corps composed of 2 divisions and a beefed up regiment.
Overall, ROK Army commands manpower of 560,000 active troops and some 3.4 million reserve (nearly all of them former military servicemen, a large number of them has regular mobilization and training exercise every year. ROK has under its firepower over 5,000 pieces of artillery 2,000 tanks and 2,500 mechanized vehicles of various type.
In our mechanized units, we have 5 mechanized infantry divisions with close to 150 tanks and over 300 mechanized vehicles for offensive operation. Capital, 20th, 26th, 30th, and 11th division is fully mobilized with 3 maneuver brigades and an artillery brigade in direct dupport. Another division, the 8th, is under process of mechanization. We also have independent armored brigades that have far more concentration of tanks to mechanized infantry. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th brigades exist and another 102nd under reformation. In all divisions and brigades mentioned, minus the 3rd armored brigade (T-80U), and the future 102nd brigade (perhaps M-48A5K), all are armed with K1 main-battle tanks, and several key units will/have been equipped with newer K1A1 tanks.
For our mechanized infantry, they ride the K-200A1 APC. Different variations, such as the engineering vehicle, mortar carrier, and air defense Vulcan, exist. Armed turret versions have been tested, but with far sueprior NIFV entering service in few years, any upgrade is unlikely. They do not have anti-tank capability--that comes from LAW and PzF-2 rockets the mechanized infantry carries--but do carrier heavy and light machineguns.
Artillery has to be one of the stronger suits of the ROK Army. Over 5000 pieces are in existance. Some 500 are old 105mm towed artillery units deployed on DMZ infantry divisions. Other divisions have been deployed with 155mm towed howitzers over 3,000 artilleries of this type and calibur exist. Over 1,100 K-55, licensed production of American M-109A2 system--exist to provide fire support for mechanized units and corps artillery brigade. Some 200 of the state of the art K-9 SPH are in service with several artillery battalions for support. BTCS fire-controll computers, RQ-101 UAVs and fire-finder radars support these arms for an effective fire support. More K-9 untis will be produced, along with an upper level intelligence network JCCS. More MLRS, plus the Kuryoung rocket launchers will provide wide-area supression.

I agree, the specs of he Type-98G are bootleg. The Chinese say a lot about their equipment, like the J-10 haveing supercruise and being very stealthy! And how can a tank that ways about 50 tons have 700mm of armor? The K-1A1 is 54 tons and can go 40mph! That means it has a lot of armor if it weighs 54 tons and has a good engine to power it! I do agree the Type-98G has better countermeasures, but South Korea has a lot of experience when it comes to targeting, just look at their artillery systems! And the XK-2 is going to have amazing countermeasures and fitted with more armor than the K-1A1 and be fitted w/ the German MTU 1500 hp Europowerpack! That's nice!!!!!!
我赞同,Type-98G的specs(又碰上了,不懂啊)是哑炮。中国人总说他们的武器，例如j-10的超级巡航能力和很好的隐身能力。但怎样解释他们50吨的坦克会有700毫米的装甲？k1a1有54吨，时速（仅）40公里，这说明它有更厚的装甲，（中间一句逻辑不清，无法译）我承认Type-98G有很好的反措施，但是韩国人有许多的经验对付它，看一下它的火控系统就明白了！比起k1a1,XK-2有更高的对策和更厚的装甲,并且装配了德国的欧洲原装1500马力发动机！太棒了！！！

Oh, come now. I'm all about a possible new Korean war. If I was 10 years younger I'd be there in a second.
Racism aside, it is difficult to argue that the NKs have a military advantage. About the only thing they have going for them is thier soldiers are well trained to follow the party line. MiG-19s and T-55s are just targets. Yes, they have plenty of Arty, but it can't move. Fixed defences went out with WWI.
Personally, I don't have a problem with Chinese, Indians, or Koreas. I may dislike the Chinese government quite a bit, but I also dislike my own government quite a bit too. I have nothing against them.

You mean the country with all of those Type-59s which have not been replaced yet, who's short on helicopters, and who's second best tank is probably the Type-96. The Type-98 aren't so big in numbers yet, they will be in the future, but look at what South Korea is cooking up! The XK-2, plus upgraded versions of the K-1A1 which has Chobham armor as KJLost just said, and some of the most advanced artillery systems in the world! And have you seen their SOFs, they're crazy!

I think the best asian army will be Japanese, The Japanese army has always
been extremely loyal not to mention brave. Japan I think has the second
highest defence budget, its troops are well paid and well equiped.
Problem with Japan is that it will never go to war with anyone, its in the
Japanese constitution but obviously they can defend if attacked.

You should also realize the most of the budget of JSDF goes to their air and
maritime element, not their ground forces. Well-paid yes, well-eqiupped? The
JGSDF has good personal gear, but things thin out as you move into heavy
equipments. Mobility equipments like simple APC, IFV, they are seriously
lacking in. Too few tanks, and low in terms of fire support from artillery.
你应该认识到日本的大部分国防预算都给了他们的空军和海军，而不是他们的陆军。军

kind of reunification, either little Kim dies or is bumped off. In either
case, S.K will be a good contender for top 5 most powerful military.

Regarding India, if their govn't continues to act stupidly and arrogantly,
they won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. Don’t have much hopes of their
government changing their act anytime soon either.

Pakistan has a good leader who cares about his country and if he can live as
long as old Castro, Pakistan will defiantly have a significant advantage over
India.

Indonesia might have a powerful military army if they don’t get into a
religious war and if they don’t do anything stupid like the anti-Chinese
riots of 1998. Kill your middle class and your merchants and you will have a
brain drain.
印尼如果不陷入宗教门派斗争，不去做些愚蠢的事例如98年反华暴动，也许会有一支强

If Asia ever combines into a Asian coprosparity sphere, the rest of the world
better beware(not that junk Japan was selling in WWII).

btw, I’ve read that China was actually prepared to invade N.K. at one point
after N.K said they were prepared to use the nuke…I think it was to prevent
a collapse of the government or something….Asia times had a article about
the military being sent to the boarder and CDF also had some postings

not including russians. cause frankly it doesnt matter. they are out of the
global politics seen for now and i dont see it coming back in future. Ranking
is purely on the paper and not on the actual capability.

now china is going to be on the top. reason is one of the biggest economy,
billions in R&D in military, many home projects. this is as of now and in
2020 well only god knows how big they are going to get. And remember they are
trying to match usa not pak, india, nk or sk. that means if they are not
going to be satisfied unless they are atleast on par in technology of usa.

second india same reasons as china. difference is they are not going to be
satisfied unless they become equal or better than china. also they lack in
fruitful R&D as compare to china. but that is going to be change since
americans want to help them so much. we might be able to see some real
improvements. stakes are high for india as its bid for super power status is
dependent on their defence too.

PAK. well since we have to keep up with india with a 2:1 ratio (apprx.) we
are drawn in this might war. with better missiles and nuke capabilities as
compare to nk and sk and with R&D is on rise along with its economy and
philosophy of better tech and training and not to forget india breathing on
its neck, il be ahead of any other asian army.

NK and sk. well a constant threat is big push towards improving defence. but
the way nk condition is as of now. it looks like they will degrade as it
happen to pak in early to mid 90's. since sk is keeping up with nk then it
will mean a slow dismanting in arms for sk. so yes they cannot hold the place
as the leaders in future.

Turky efforts for joining EU. make me doubt that they will be more aggressive
with towards their army and plus their defence problems are not sever as many
other countries in the list.

Now just one thing to add. Numbers have great importance. technology is good
but it can help so far. one G36 is way better than a bow and arrow but having
it wont help you when you go against 20 bows.
